You may have to wiggle it from side to side, heat it to melt any sealant, or gently tap it with the hammer to get it started, but once its loose it will slide right off.

If you're not comfortable with that, call Ruger and see what they say to do. Any even semi-competent gunsmith should be able to fix it for you quickly as well.
