WebJun 3, 2024 · We are redoing all the galvanized supply lines with PEX instead, and want to replace all or most of the galvanized/cast iron drain lines, since the drains run slow. We've cut out a section of pipe (to add a cleanout) and they are half-full of buildup. This stack is 2 1/2 inch galvanized, with a couple small portions of cast iron toward the bottom. WebI figured parts would be around $100-200 plus around 4 hours to replace it all. the plan was to tie into the existing cast iron pipe that exits the house so there would be no tunneling or outside digging required. Really all I need is the stack, vent, and basement drain reconnected. The toilet rough in could be abandoned for all I care.
